i like the movie!
Initial D.
hm, does not sound appealing to me, a person who does not drive nor have any interest in Jay Chou...:P
but it was a good movie.
"it is important to find a place of yours..." (paraphrased) said by the gal in the movie
( poy gave us all the same msg about the place for us in KOG. hee, rachel, xiaodi and me were still travelling together. recd the same msg. a naughty thought came. Let's all gave him back the same msg...synchronized message. haha. tt's was FUN!! childlikeness in every one's heart...:P )
besides the scenic views that attracted me a lot,
it was about the relationships i see in this show.
one
the sleepy father and the son ( Jay)
yes, the father has his BIG obvious weakness, sleepy and seemingly care less of anything in what's happening around
yet, through the unsaid
the love for the son is still there
he even counted the timing of the son's delivery time
he saw his son's disappointment in the "spoilt" AE86
and took the effort to get it repaired
even better this time
he took his son to teach him a lesson
to acheive the best performance from the engine the car can go
only after the son took on a failed and unsatisfied ride
what a love for his son!
"You fathers, if your children ask for a fish, do you give them a snake instead? or if they ask for an egg, do you give them a scorpion? of course not! if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will Your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him." Luke 11:11-13 (NLT)
two
the friendship of the son (Jay) and the "imposed god of racing car of Mt Akina"-son's friend
grewing up years together
the son seemingly always bullied and looked down by his friend
yet, through the unsaid
the son wanted to share his good news to only his friend and his galfriend
the scene where they sat on the car front of the petrol kiosk
the friend supported him as he raced
jumped in exhilatration when he won!
the good joy a pair of buddies shared together.
"two people can accomplish more than twice as much as one, they get a better return for their labor. if one person fails, the other can reach out and help. but the people who are alone when they fall are in real trouble. .." Ecc 4:9 (NLT)
three
the relationship of the son and his galfriend
at the end, the gal did not have the chance to explain herself
though at that time, she has made a decision
to leave the "unseen" uncle and wanting to go back to the son
the son saw and perceived from there
left and everything left unclarifed
the eyes of the gal showed guilt and shame, and repentance?
can we always be "calm" to see situations beyond just human eyes?
waiting for a proper time for truth to be revealed?
No eye has seen no ear has heard the good that the Lord has prepared for those
who wait on Him, to hear His voice,
You are the potter and i am the clay
(song)
hee...just my personal thoughts triggered after the movie....:P

hee...just my personal thoughts triggered after the movie....:P

It is really sad that she lost the "space (or rather person, in this case Takumi) that she has found" because of an undesirable past (represented by the "uncle")... I wonder if Takumi would still accept her and forgive her even if she got a chance to explain to him...

Itsuki is the best friend of Takumi and vice versa... This kind of friendship that does not weigh against the character, the personality, the weaknesses, the disparities, is then the most valuable one. Not many of us have this type of bond with best friends... not many... and most of us rather feel that only the ones who share the same beliefs and thoughts can be the best friend of all. Because we want the easy way out; because we want to perceive and share the same vision; because we do not desire to put in so much efforts in accepting one another... its really encouraging to observe this affiliation.
Pertaining to the girl, Natsuki, that rightfully, Takumi should give her a chance to clarify what might be the unlying reason behind, this is not always the case for people to procure such 'calm'. For we tend to look at things on the surface. I don't mean all but generally, if the thing means dearly to you, chances are you will be more selfish and self-seeking. Because you won't want to let go of it. Suddenly, something undesired occur, affecting this thingy that you love, your humanely nature and immediate sentiments would definitely materialise before you could sit back and reflect what you've done or deem. It is then when you're able to look at things more plainly. As for this Takumi's case, he had reacted accordingly to the emotions emerged instantaneously when he spot Natsuki with another guy (this, thus, evoked to his mind on what his buddy, Itsuki had mentioned to him once earlier - He saw Natsuki coming out of a 'hotel' with another guy). Within seconds of conclusion, he deemed that what his buddy had told him and what he had seen appear to coincide with each other that he thought is truthful. As a result, calm mind could not be persisted at that juncture. If there is a time for the girl to explain to him, I believe that he will comprehend. For at the outset, he LOVES her deeply. Literally, I think that this behaviour happens to most of us until things are left to contemplate further.
Just my personal thought :)
