Friday the 13th

Signed.
the appointment of teaching today.

Still remember two interesting ocassion separately related to this teaching career.

ONE sunday....
was at Nexus reception, happen to meet up with pastor Ben.
He saw and probably recognise me fromthe last time i talked with him...
so he asked...." so u are the teacher rite?"
erm...then i was still in ComfortDelGro working but i just applied for the teaching career...
so i went: " no, but i just applied for it..."
i still remember clearly his surprised look.
hee.

Second ocassion,
i was buying some souvenirs at Mount Zion just hrs before i flying off to thai camp.
at the counter, the sister asked ( quite abruptly): "sister, are u a teacher?"
this caught me by surprise. Probably because i was buying some pencils.
and of course, then nothing was confirmed, so i denied it.

I was told i would recd reply by abt two weeks from the interview.
So estd day is supposed to be on the 29th May.
the day i fly off.
i return home from the refreshing camp, found and heard nothing.
all was still and silent then.

but the letter came unexpectedly one day as i came back home.

Today, i went to MOE, Edutorium.
saw hundreds of them. both young and old. of different races too.
Teachers. Behind each teacher, i saw many more lives.
the lives of children.
i do hope we wont get too caught up with the teaching of subjects itself that we forgot the importance of nurturing the lives of children.
The story of each starfish remains......

Sat beside a lady.
took the opportunity to know more people.
Initiated a conversation with her.
Nancy. a primary Chinese teacher too.
Malaysian, who used to be teacher in Msia too.
one interesting statement she commented: " are you 2o or 21?"
ehm, i was surprised! =p
For some, looking young maybe a bonus.
yet, in me, its too young.....i would not like to look 20 plus when i am say, 30+ ??!
well, maybe i may change my mind when i reach 30+ again....hee.

read a verse today:
(NLT) Job 32: 7 " i( Elihu) thought: those who are older should speak, for wisdom comes with age. Surely it is God's spirit within people, the breath of the Almighty within them, that makes them intelligent...."

As we grow older, with much understanding and knowledge, with much experience in life, wisdom should follow. However, it is not a "sure thingy". It is the Spirit in us, that gives us the understanding and wisdom. It is not only the old who who are wise, not only the aged that understand what is right.
Lord, desire for Your spirit within me that i can have more wisdom....despite my young age. ( whether actual or outward appearance) :P

Settling down....
may Your Word of revelation comes.
Amen.

More than i can contain!

back to my familiar place.
a great wonderful fruitful memorable happy refreshing faith-stimulating touched thailand church camp!
Khon Kean UNiversity
the site of church camp.
was i in olympics?
no, its our very own Hope Games.
presentation and performances and everything done and prepared by the sweet thai sis/bro.
what a serving and same unity in them!
and Pastor carried torch and light up to signify the start of Hope games ( competition among the mid-size groups in church) wow! FIRWORKS?!! hm, was i in olympics? its so amazing!

my first experience in overseas camp with Hope people.
different nationalities, yet the same God. the same Spirit. the same name that we all proudly hold : Hope church.
met Pastor magarita-the pastor in sarawak-Iban who hosted us when i was in this mission trip some 2 years back.
met with thai sister who remembered my name when i only met up with her a few hrs in spore.
met Msia pastor and sister/brothers. Young engergetic people.
met thai sis/bro who played games with us and language was not the barrier anymore. the games bonded us together! playing ice and water guns under the hot blazing thailand sun.
was pampered with VIPs' stlye of welcoming. they adorned us flowers as they lined in two rows to welcome us. Fetched us with unbrellas when we had to walk a distance from bus to the camp site. what a heart to serve people, i got a lot to learn from them!

Love the praise and worship! everyone free to express their joy and galdness in praise and worship.
at times they sang only thai words, there's no english words translating. however, i learned what it really means to worship God.
it matters not what is the outside ( language), it matters in the heart of worship.
Truly to worship God, is to know who He Is and to thank him and honor His character.

remembered a thai brother who said this:( i was asking him what made him believed in God)
i searched for answer.
i found it's harder to deny His existence than to believe that He is. so i chose to believe.
my faith is growing to be more than 50% now since the last time i search for Him.

i was touched by his geunine faith towards God.
a faith that tells a relationship with God, not a religion with Him.
He decided to put his trust in God, tho he may not able to understand everything at tt moment.
Becoz i also came to understand it's impossible to know everything abt Him.
i am still learning and getting to know Him more each day....

i saw many many people at the camp.
God, if U are not real, arent there so many fools around?i am included. but becoz U proved Yourself as what U claimed to be, there is always people wanting to put their lives in Your hands. this itself touched me coz i saw You in their lives.

i saw miracles. people on crutches, whell chairs, standing and walking up and around....
nothing beats seeing it.
i heard enough from people/ from books....
but i SEE it! the powerthat God displayed! amazing! :)

Begin to appreciate this family more.
HOPE family.
whther, europe, Hong Kong, thailand, Msia, canada, Africa, spore etc....
we have the same name; Hope.

only one life , live it to the fullest!
Know who i am living for! otherwise, i lived for nothing.

Thank You God.
For loving me, a child.

Farewells in a joyful way!

FAREWELLS
Rhonda K. O’Brien

What will help me say good-bye in a healthy and positive way?

Praying together and being open and honest about the pain of parting are important to healthy good-byes.

Acts 20:36-38 When he had finished speaking, he knelt and prayed with them. They wept aloud as they embraced him in farewell, sad most of all because he had said that they would never see him again.

Before parting thank people for what they have meant to you.

Philemon 1:7 I myself have gained much joy and comfort from your love, my brother, because your kindness has so often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.

Seeing God’s hand in your circumstances and following God’s call in your life will give you greater security as you say good-bye, even though parting will still not be easy.

Genesis 12:4 So Abram departed, as the Lord had instructed him.

Never stop reminding yourself that God is the constant in your life. You will never say good-bye to him, or he to you. No matter where you have to go, even across the “farthest oceans,” even there God’s hand will guide you and give you strength for the task ahead.

Psalm 139:9-10 If l ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me.

There is great comfort in knowing that God will take care of those to whom you say farewell. God is near to those with whom you are far apart.

Acts 20:3 2 And now I entrust you to God and the word of his grace—his message that is able to build you up and give you an inheritance with all those he has set apart for himself

Parting is easier if you have lived in such a way as to minimize regrets and unfinished business. Live each day with others as if you must say good-bye tomorrow.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.

Anticipate the next meeting.

2 Timothy 1:4 I long to see you again, for I remember your tears as we parted. And I will be filled with joy when we are together again.

PROMISES FROM GOD

Matthew 28:20 And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Posted this, that i know there'll be farewells now and coming....:P
